Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant State Practice Exam

Oregon uses a different testing vendor than most states you might be comparing notes with, Headmaster (D&S Diversified Technologies), not Pearson VUE or Prometric. Researching based on another state's CNA process means the registration system and portal names won't match what Oregon actually uses.

The exam has two parts: a Skills Evaluation and a Written section. The written portion is 75 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes, 75% required to pass, that's 56 out of 75 correct.

Six topic areas: safety, communication, infection control, personal care, basic nursing skills, and resident rights, the practical competencies a working CNA needs across both knowledge and hands-on care.

The application process runs through several distinct steps, worth knowing upfront:

1. Create an account in the OSBN Nurse Portal, submit your CNA application, and pay the $106 fee.
2. Schedule fingerprinting through Fieldprint Oregon using code FPORBoardNursingDAS, a separate $70.50 fee.
3. Once your training program uploads your details to the TestMaster Universe (TMU) portal, you'll get login instructions to verify your information and schedule your actual exam.

Three separate systems, OSBN Nurse Portal, Fieldprint, and TMU, each with its own step. Missing or delaying any one can stall your path to testing even when you're fully prepared on content.

Fingerprinting and application processing run on their own timelines, separate from your study schedule. Starting those administrative steps early, rather than after you feel ready on content, keeps them from becoming the actual bottleneck to your exam date.
